Laurie has been working in stained glass since she took lessons in 1997 at Thornhill's Glowing Panes studio, where she fell in love with the art. According to Laurie: "Working in stained glass is a juxtaposition of the creative and the technical - a curious dichotomy."
Laurie was born in Vancouver, and moved to Aurora about 20 years ago. Her original designs typically reflect her roots in the West Coast and her love of nature.
She sells her work mainly at shows throughout York Region and the GTA, and has also developed a small following of loyal repeat clients.
Laurie's original stained glass designs typically reflect her roots in the West Coast and her love of nature. Occasionally she will branch out to something more abstract. She works in the traditional leaded and copper foil methods, and also does mosaics, producing lampshades, windows and panels, garden stepping stones, two and three dimensional suncatchers, candle holders, and other decorative items.
Commissions and repair work are welcomed!
