Like many of us Andrea lives in an urban environment yet enjoys getting out into our beautiful natural places as much as possible. Her landscape paintings are windows to the forests and lakes, sunlight and reflections that she carries home to her studio to put down on canvas. These are the places that make us feel grounded and complete.
Andrea has been painting landscapes for many years, chosing to paint with gouache from the start. Gouache is an opaque watercolour that when dry has a flat satin finish. In order to protect to surface of the work she finishes her pieces with a light coat of varnish spray. This leaves the option of framing her work either with or without glass. Andrea has participated in many juried shows and exhibitions over the years, most recently at The Varley Gallery, the Aurora Cultural Centre, The McMichael Gallery, The Richmond Hill Studio Tour and The Mill Pond Gallery. One of her pieces can be seen at the Richmond Hill Central Library as part of their permanent collection. Andrea works from her home in Richmond Hill and can be reached by e-mail.
